Verifying Your Browser Encryption Capability

To verify the capability of your browser, go to the Verisign browser check. The browser check will help you determine whether you need to upgrade your browser encryption capabilities.

To verify that SchoolHouse.com is using SSL encryption, point your browser to the login page. Note the following:

*	The SSL protocol is now in use. The "https" portion of the URL in the browser address window (see 3b in figure below) indicates the SSL protocol.
*	An encrypted session has been established, indicated by the closed padlock icon on your browser's status bar (4b in figure below). An open icon identifies an unencrypted browser session.

To verify the encryption protocol in Internet Explorer, right-click the SchoolHouse.com login page. From the pop-up menu, select Properties. The Properties dialogue is displayed. The security information is displayed under Connection (see 7 in figure below).

Select the Certificates button (see 8 in figure above) to display the RSA certificate information for the site (as shown in figure below).
